TB, Malaria and other Communicable Diseases Prevention

Through partnerships, CIHP continues to combat malaria by accelerating malaria prevention and treatment efforts, building national, state, and local capacities, and strengthening key health systems in supported facilities. Efforts are geared to curtail the spread of anti-malarial, multi-drug resistance with emphasis on strategic integration of malaria prevention and treatment activities with HIV/AIDS and Tuberculosis programs through the provision of insecticide treated bed nets (ITNs) and sulfadoxine-pyrimethamine combinations for intermittent presumptive therapy (IPT) during the period of pregnancy in line with WHO recommendation and national guidelines.
